Welcome to the "H.M.S." Rose

Welcome aboard the full-rigged sailing ship Rose. From For nearly 20 years Rose was America's only Class-A size civilian Tall Ship. Her mission: providing a variety of educational, at-sea adventure programs to the general public. In 1991 Rose became the only vessel of her size to achieve U. S. Coast Guard certification as a Sailing School Vessel. In 2001 she discontinued her sail training program in order to pursue roles in film.

We'd like to show you around our ship. There are a couple of different routes, depending on how much time you have and what speed internet connection you have. QuickTime tours require QuickTime 3.0 or 4.0 and work on Windows and Macs.

The "Virtual Tour"

Our "virtual" tour consists of photographs and QuickTime VR panorama's stitched together to give you a 3D experience moving through the ship. Use your mouse to navigate within the panoramas and the control strip to zoom in and out.

It helps if you have a good internet connection. The Panoramas are 150K to 250K each.

The Guided "Photos Only" Tour

The Guided Tour is narrated and provides more details and history about the ship. It has only photos so it's better for browsers with slow internet connections as well.

The complete, unguided QuickTime VR Tour

You can download the entire virtual tour all at once and view it off-line. The panoramas are all linked internally so you can view it outside of your web browser. At 2.5 MB it will take a while to download. Choose the option to save it to disk, if asked, and save it to a location where you can find it later and open it from the QuickTime player.
